WE LOST A HIP HOP ICON IN NATE DOGG, A UNIQUE, DISTINCT VOICE FROM THE LEFT COAST. FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS, HE HAD SUFFERED TWO DEBILITATING STROKES THAT LEFT HIM PARTIALLY PARALYZED. THE MUSIC WORLD, BEING AS SELFISH AS IT IS (INCLUDING MYSELF), MISSED HIS HIP HOP-FLAVORED R&B CROONING THAT SET THE STAGE FOR DEATH ROW AND COMPANY TO RULE THE AIRWAVES FOR A DECADE OR SO. AT THE YOUNG AGE OF 41, HIS GOLDEN VOICE HAS BEEN SILENCED, BUT WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE NUMEROUS GUEST APPEARANCES AND RECORDINGS TO REMIND US OF WHO NATHANIEL HALE WAS AS AN ARTIST. ONE OF MY FAVORITES IS BELOW, "OH NO", FEATURING PHAROAHE MONCH AND MOS DEF. THIS RAWKUS RECORDS JOINT WAS ON THE LYRICIST LOUNGE 2 ALBUM.
THE APPEARANCE THAT EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOMMA KNOWS IS THE INFAMOUS "NEXT EPISODE", THE SEMINAL CUT FROM DR. DRE'S 2000 ALBUM CHRONIC 2001. ENJOY THIS CLASSIC, AND GOD BLESS THE ENTIRE HALE FAMILY. NATE DOGG WILL BE MISSED!
